Additional Information

What is Confidentiality?

What you share in counseling is private and confidential. This means your personal information and what we talk about in sessions will not be shared with anyone else without your permission.

However, there are a few important exceptions where I may need to share information to keep you or others safe:

  • If you talk about plans, thoughts, or have ideations to seriously harm yourself (suicide) or someone else (homicide)

  • If you provide or discuss information that may lead me to suspect the abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult

In all other situations, I will ask for your written permission before sharing any information with others (like a doctor, school, or family member).

Your privacy matters, and I’m here to create a safe space for you.

What is Mental Health Counseling?

Mental health counseling is a type of therapy where you work with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about life’s challenges, whether you're feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed.

Through counseling, you'll learn coping skills, gain insight into your feelings, and develop healthier ways to manage life's ups and downs, helping you feel more in control and improve your overall well-being.

Telehealth makes it easier for you to get the care you need. It saves you time by allowing you to have your appointment with me, all from the comfort of your home or at work. This prevents the need for you to travel or spend time sitting in a waiting room. It is also great for people who might not feel comfortable going in person or for those who have a very busy schedule and need convenient appointments.

Major benefits are:

  • Saves time

  • Reduces the need for travel

  • Increases accessibility
